Q: 2 questions. Can a Baltic birch rack be made with the finger joints like your hard wood racks? I want to use a rack for live applications in clubs etc. Can these racks be ordered with a 10” depth. Thanks, Bob

Asked by: Bob - 12/16/2019
A: Yes, we can make these 10 inches deep. The price would be the same as the standard depth. On the checkout page, there is a text box for comments. Enter "Build 10 inches deep". We will see this and enter it in to your order manually.

No, we cannot finger joint the plywood racks.

Q: It appears that your racks would also fit networking equipment. I have a Ubiquiti switch with the following measurements (17.44" W x 1.69" H x 8.70" D). Would that fit?

Asked by: David Lemon - 4/29/2020
A: That is correct. IT equipment follows the same standard for rack mounting as audio equipment. It will fit perfect.

Q: Couple of questions concerning your Baltic Birch 9-Ply Lightweight Studio Equipment Rack. (1) Your on-line description reads: "These racks are sprayed with a clear acrylic finish." But "clear acrylic finish" does not appear on the corresponding drop down menu on the Description page. Is this because what shows up as "Unfinished" is actually "clear acrylic finish?" (2) For the 1U rack, there are no flip handle options. Could I nevertheless order one with your surface mount handles (or, if not possible, order the handles separately and install them myself)? Thanks. Jon S.

Asked by: Jon Silberman - 1/2/2021
A: Great questions.

The clear acrylic finish is our "clear lacquer" option. We use an acrylic lacquer.

The surface mount flip handle body is 3-3/16" tall. The outside height of the 1U rack is 3-5/16". This is the only reason we don't offer installation of the handles. They will fit, but look a bit bulky. You can certainly add the handles to your order and install them yourself.

Q: Can you stack these racks? And how much load can they take, without sagging? I plan on putting equipment weight between 10-20 lbs into a rack, stacking three.

Asked by: william b Shine - 1/19/2021
A: These racks can be stacked. The top and bottom panels overlap the side panels, making them as strong as possible. The weight capacity of these is 60 pounds or less.
