These are open back. If you want your gear completely enclosed in the rack, the mounting depth is about 11-3/4 inches.

Is it possible to add a pair of 2u rails at the bottom back to allow for a power strip and cable management through the back. I’m looking at a standard studio rack if that matters in the decision.

Definitely. Just purchase the rails you want in the back from our hardware category and put a note in the special instructions box on the checkout page exactly where you want them installed.

Would the Apollo X6 fit comfortably in this rack?

A:
The Apollo X6 chassis is listed as 12.12 inches deep. The racking depth of our rack is 11.75 inches deep. The chassis would stick out the back 0.37 inches, plus connectors.
